Jo arrived at the craft fair with a stack of paper flowers. The club’s booth sign was gone. Yesterday’s list had called their place provisional: held for now, but still waiting for final approval.

“We’re eligible,” Jo said. Every club member was an enrolled student, so they met the rule about who could apply. Her friend showed her an email saying the organizer would waive the fee. They would not have to pay the ten dollars.

Then Jo noticed a line on the form: an adult supervisor’s signature was mandatory. It was required, not just helpful. She remembered submitting the project form, but who had checked the signature?

The organizer brought out the checklist. Jo put it beside the email. Had the email removed every requirement, or only the fee?
