Twenty minutes before the school play, Elena opened the red folder beside the control board. Her rehearsal notes were gone. She was meticulous about that packet: every page was numbered, every change marked, and every cue checked against the script.

Three students had visited the booth. Jay said he had borrowed a pencil. He was discreet during the search, speaking quietly so the actors below would not hear and lose their focus. Mira said she had copied only one revised page, then returned the folder with the complete packet inside. Theo said he had stayed onstage moving scenery. His account sounded plausible; Elena remembered seeing him carry a large screen.

Elena asked for the copier log and the search notes. Would they contradict Mira’s story by showing something different? Before blaming anyone, Elena wanted to know where the pages had gone.
